DESCRIPTION:Please join Church Women United as we celebrate this year's com
bined Human Rights Day and World Community Day. A light lunch will be serv
ed.\nWe have planned an exciting program which will include singing and a
powerful speaker: Minister Ciara Taylor from the Alton Mission Church.\nAl
so the CWU 2026 Human Rights Day award and the World Community Day award w
il be presented to deserving honorees.\nHuman Rights Day remembers our Tea
cher. Jesus said\, “Love one another as I have loved you\,” He did not
mean for us to love just some people\, He truly meant for us to love ever
yone. This has been the message of CWU since our beginnings in 1943 and wi
ll continue to be one of the pillars that supports and drives our movement
.\nWorld Community Day emphasizes peace and justice. The once clear catego
ries of “domestic” and “foreign” were consciously blurred so the g
lobal scope of the wide range of problems could be emphasized on World Com
 munity Day.\nSincerely\,\nPat Jordan\, VP/Ecumenical Chair\nMinister Joyce
  Elliot\, President
